Eicher: Eicher Motors Limited’s stock will be in focus today as Royal Enfield’s December sales up 17 percent at 66968 units against 57398 units. Total exports up 48 percent at 1,601 units against 1082 units, year-0n-year.

Thermax:: Thermax Limited bags Rs. 327 crore order from a public-sector company based in Western India for a Boiler Turbine Generator package on EPC basis.

IdeaCellular:: Idea Cellular Limited is set to consider a fund raising proposal on Thursday, January 4, 2018

JMFL:: JM Financial Limited seeks shareholder’s approval to raise Rs. 650 crore.

Prestige Estates:: Prestige Estates Projects Limited to buy Capitaland’s stake in different companies for Rs.342.00 crore.
GAIL: GAIL India Limited commissions India’s second largest roof-top solar PV at Patna, (UP).

Sensex rallies over 170 points, Nifty hits at 10,480

share market up Benchmark indices were trading marginally higher on fresh spell of buying after new data indicated to steady growth in the U.S economy. The shares of Tata Motors, L&T and ONGC rose, while the shares of Coal India and Power Grid fell.

The BSE index Sensex was up 178.85 points at 33,935.13 and the NSE index Nifty 50 index was up 42.60 points at 10,482.90 in later morning hours.

Top five Sensex gainers include stocks of ONGC, Maruti, Bharti Airtel, M&M and Tata Motors, while the major losers were Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and IndusInd Bank.

Shares of oil companies such as ONGC rose 2.13%, GAIL India rose 1.09% and Castrol India rose 0.91% were trading up in later morning hours, keeping the BSE Oil and Gas index in the green zone. On the other hand, shares of BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation) down 0.33% during the time. 

The Indian domestic currency rupee on Friday opened little changed versus the U.S dollar. It rupee was trading at 64.05 per dollar, up 0.02 percent from its last day’s close of 64.06. The Ten-year bond yield was at 7.210 percent, compared to its last close of 7.214%.

share market down The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened on Thursday after closing at a record high in the previous session. The Indian rupee opened higher against the USD.

At 10.55 am, the BSE Sensex traded lower by 73.29 points, to 32,969.21, while the Nifty fell 8.85 points to close at 10,286.50. Shares of SBI and PNB hit a fresh record high, rising about 7.79% to Rs 351.3 and 14.55% to Rs 231.45 respectively. Other PSU bank stocks which also rallied include Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India Canara Bank,  Bank of India, OBC,  IDBI Bank and Syndicate Bank.

JP Group stocks fell after the Supreme Court has extended the deadline for Jaypee Associates Ltd to deposit Rs. 2,000 crore to cover its liability towards those who bought homes in projects of its subsidiary Jaypee Infratech Ltd.

Tata Communications Ltd fell 4% to Rs. 688 after it has reported a loss of Rs. 128.55 crore against a net profit of Rs. 267.65 crore that was in the corresponding quarter last year.
HCL Infosystems Ltd fell 4% to Rs. 46.85 after the company announced its net loss for the quarter widened to Rs. 455.57 cr from Rs. 37.13 cr a year ago period.

Rupee Watch: The Indian rupee opened at 64.80/USD and was being traded at 64.74 V/s the dollar, up 0.25% from its last close of 64.90.

TCS stocks in focus that the company said that its UK-based subsidiary, Diligenta, secured a 15-year partnership with Scottish Widows, Lloyds Banking Group’s Life and Pensions business.
