Stocks to watch out for on Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Sun Pharma, Grasim Industries, Idea Cellular, Nestle India, Allahabad Bank, Apollo Hospitals, Bharat Road Network, Balkrishna Industries, Dena Bank, Jet Airways are among companies scheduled to report earnings later in the day.

NTPC: NTPC Limited has announced that it has secured tender for supplying 300 MW of electricity to Bangladesh for 15 years. The stock will likely be in focus on Wednesday.

GAIL (India)’s net profit rose 28.4% to Rs 1262.22 crore on 18.8% growth in net sales to Rs 14414.34 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016. The company’s board recommended the issuance of one bonus share of Rs 10 each for existing three shares held, as per the shareholders approval.

Idea Cellular:  Idea Cellular has raised Rs 3,250 crore through a preferential allotment of over 32.66 crore equity shares at Rs 99.50 a unit to three promoter group entities.

Britannia Industries:  Britannia Industries Ltd has reported 19.6% increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 263.7 crore for the Q3 ended December 2017. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 220.4 crore in the Oct –Dec period a year ago.

Live Market Update: Nifty slips near 11,100; HDFC, ONGC, GAIL rise

SEBI Registered stock advisory companyKey benchmark indices on Wednesday were trading nearly flat in early trade on Wednesday, with Nifty touching a new rise of 11,110 and fall under 11000 marks.

The BSE Sensex was up 20.61 points at 36,160.59. The NSE Nifty index was down 0.40 points at 11,083.30 in the later hours. The broader markets were also trading near flat as the BSE Mid-Cap and Small-Cap Index fell 0.50 percent each.

Indiabulls HF shares were down 1 percent today as the company reported a 55.4 percent rise in its consolidated net profit for the December quarter.

Shares of HDFC, ONGC and GAIL India gained the most in the morning, whereas Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, and Hindalco Industries lost the most

Shares of L&T Tech rose 7.5 percent after the company reported a net profit of Rs. 126 crore in Dec quarter.

Shares of United Spirits Ltd fell 5.7 percent to Rs. 3,535.90 after the company reported lower earnings.

On NSE Nifty-50, shares of GAIL India, HDFC, HCL Tech, TCS and ITC were the top gainers while Airtel, Hindalco, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank and Adani Ports were the top losers.

Sensex rises record high in early trade, RCom shares spikes

Sensex Nifty up Key benchmark indices extended gains after markets opened even with Sensex picking on with a little up move. BSE Sensex gained 74.89 points to open at 34,085.50 while NSE Nifty started a little move by 6.10% at 10,537.60.

Shares of Reliance communication (RCom) kept gains after an enormous surge in the stock prices on Tuesday, when Anil Ambani announced the total debt of the company would be reduced by Rs 39,000 cr.

Shares of RIL, Yes Bank, Sun Pharma contributed the most to the Sensex gains. Sectorally, Nifty pharma and Nifty Realty leading the charge while Nifty banking sector shed up to 0.24%.
Shares of Yes Bank, Sun Pharma, ONGC, HUL, Dr Reddy’s, RIL, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, and NTPC come out as the top gainers on Sensex while Wipro, ICICI Bank, Coal India and Asian Paints were losers.

Oil Company shares such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation fell nearly 1 percent each in early trade owing to a surge in crude prices globally, on Tuesday.

Sensex gains, GDP growth hit a 3-quarter high

GDP Growth Sensex and Nifty recovered on Friday after falling deeply as India’s GDP growth hit a three-quarter high of 6.3% in Jul-September.

The Automobile stocks such as Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki were among the major gainers on Sensex pack as auto companies announce their vehicle sales growth for the month of November.

The stock of Bharti Airtel lost the most among the Sensex stocks, down 1.2%. Shares of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation , Tata Motors, Larson & Toubro, Maruti Suzuki, ITC, TCS, Hero MotoCorp and Kotak Mahindra Bank gained up to 1.2 percent, while shares of Coal India, Bharti Airtel and HDFC were the major losers.

In Nifty Index, United Phosphorus Ltd, Tata Motors, Bosch, Zee Entertainment, and ONGC gained the most, while Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, Cipla, IOC and Coal India were the top losers.
