Monday- 27 Nov Sensex falls 69 points, Nifty trades lower, ONGC stocks rose

sensex downIndian Share Market opened marginally lower on Monday tracking weakness in Asian markets and on caution prior to the release of July-September GDP data later this week.

At 10.50 am, BSE Sensex lost 69 points to open at 33,610 whereas NSE Nifty dropped 28.65 points to begin at 10,361. The Indian rupee dropped 9 paise to 64.79 against the dollar in early trade at the interbank foreign exchange.

ONGC, United Phosphorus Ltd, Vedanta Ltd, Hindalco and Tech Mahindra gained the most on Nifty50, while Bharti Airtel, HPCL, Infosys, Adani Ports and Sun Pharma were the top losers.

Shares of Videocon Industries Ltd rose 5 percent to Rs 13.45 after the company announced that it seeks shareholders approval for raising Rs. 2,000 crore via shares.

Shares of Satin Creditcare Network Ltd rose 3 percent to Rs. 400 after the company announced that it will raise fund from promoter, Nordic Microfin, Kora Investment & IndusInd Bank Ltd. by way of equity & convertible preference shares.

Shares of Oil & Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) spiked 2 percent to Rs. 183.30 after rise in crude oil price internationally.

share market down The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened on Thursday after closing at a record high in the previous session. The Indian rupee opened higher against the USD.

At 10.55 am, the BSE Sensex traded lower by 73.29 points, to 32,969.21, while the Nifty fell 8.85 points to close at 10,286.50. Shares of SBI and PNB hit a fresh record high, rising about 7.79% to Rs 351.3 and 14.55% to Rs 231.45 respectively. Other PSU bank stocks which also rallied include Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India Canara Bank,  Bank of India, OBC,  IDBI Bank and Syndicate Bank.

JP Group stocks fell after the Supreme Court has extended the deadline for Jaypee Associates Ltd to deposit Rs. 2,000 crore to cover its liability towards those who bought homes in projects of its subsidiary Jaypee Infratech Ltd.

Tata Communications Ltd fell 4% to Rs. 688 after it has reported a loss of Rs. 128.55 crore against a net profit of Rs. 267.65 crore that was in the corresponding quarter last year.
HCL Infosystems Ltd fell 4% to Rs. 46.85 after the company announced its net loss for the quarter widened to Rs. 455.57 cr from Rs. 37.13 cr a year ago period.

Rupee Watch: The Indian rupee opened at 64.80/USD and was being traded at 64.74 V/s the dollar, up 0.25% from its last close of 64.90.

Sensex, Nifty extended initial losses and hit fresh intraday low in morning trade as Asian stocks weakness dampened sentiment. At 10.55 AM, Nifty opened at 9,867 level, down by 96 points while Sensex opened at 31,668 level, down by 254 points.

Shares of L&T Technology (LTTS), were trading at Rs. 772.65, down by 0.36% during Monday’s trading session on BSE. The company has announced the formal establishment of a design centre in Chennai, India dedicated for Vestas. Cadila Healthcare – Zydus has obtained final approval from the USFDA for Amlodipine and Olmesartan Medoxomil Tablet.

Oberoi Realty has been selected as the successful bidder for the land of 60 acres located at Thane, for a consideration of Rs 555 crore.
