Sensex and Nifty peak fresh record high, Idea Cellular gains

stock market trading up Share markets opened marginally higher on Friday on positive economic cues. The BSE Sensex was up 170.16 points or 0.50% at 34,139.80. The NSE Nifty-50 index was up 46.25 points or 0.44% at 10,551.05 in the later morning hours.

Shares Idea Cellular limited rose on the back of fundraising plans that involves raising Rs 3250 crore by selling shares on a preferential basis.

Shares of Maruti Suzuki, Yes Bank, Adani Ports, TCS, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel gained up to 2.25% and were among the top gainers of Sensex stocks. The heavyweight shares such as TCS, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Bank, ITC, L&T, Yes Bank, HDFC, and contributed the most to the Sensex upsurge.

The Nifty Metal Index rose higher, led by gains in shares of Hindalco Industries and Vedanta, over 1 percent, tracking the overnight rise in global metal prices.

The Indian rupee gained more strength, ending at a fresh 2½ year high against the US dollar on Thursday. The rupee opened down by 5 paise at 63.58, but very swiftly pared the morning losses and added 16 paise to hit a day’s high of 63.37 vs the US dollar.

Sensex, Nifty trade higher, auto Stocks and banking stocks fall

Stock trading tips Sensex and Nifty were trading higher in early trade, tracking positive signs from Asian markets and continued rally in metal stocks. The BSE Sensex was up 42.12 points or 0.12% at 33,835.50. The NSE Nifty-50 index was up 13.60 points or 0.13% at 10,456.50 in the late morning hours. Shares of ONGC, Dr. Reddy’s and IndusInd Bank rose, whereas shares of ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and Yes Bank fell. 

Metal stocks keep on gaining on the back of growing global commodity prices. The Nifty Metal Index rose 0.5 percent in early trade, led by more than one percent gains in shares of Vedanta Ltd and Welspun Corp.

Tata Motors fell 1.1% to Rs.252 after the company announced its US JLR sales fell 9.4 percent to 11,394 units. Shares of Oil & Natural Gas rose 1.3 percent to Rs. 196.15 after international crude oil prices hit a 3-year high.

In Nifty-50 index, shares of Asian Paints and ONGC rose 1.5%, each, Dr. Reddy’s rose 1.2% and Coal India up 1% as the top gainers while Shares of Tata Motors fell 1.4%, HCL Tech slipped 1.06%, ICICI Bank down 0.86%, Yes Bank down 0.55% and Sun Pharma lose 0.41% as the top losers in today’s trade.

Sensex rises record high in early trade, RCom shares spikes

Sensex Nifty up Key benchmark indices extended gains after markets opened even with Sensex picking on with a little up move. BSE Sensex gained 74.89 points to open at 34,085.50 while NSE Nifty started a little move by 6.10% at 10,537.60.

Shares of Reliance communication (RCom) kept gains after an enormous surge in the stock prices on Tuesday, when Anil Ambani announced the total debt of the company would be reduced by Rs 39,000 cr.

Shares of RIL, Yes Bank, Sun Pharma contributed the most to the Sensex gains. Sectorally, Nifty pharma and Nifty Realty leading the charge while Nifty banking sector shed up to 0.24%.
Shares of Yes Bank, Sun Pharma, ONGC, HUL, Dr Reddy’s, RIL, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, and NTPC come out as the top gainers on Sensex while Wipro, ICICI Bank, Coal India and Asian Paints were losers.

Oil Company shares such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation fell nearly 1 percent each in early trade owing to a surge in crude prices globally, on Tuesday.

Sensex rallies over 170 points, Nifty hits at 10,480

Top five Sensex gainers include stocks of ONGC, Maruti, Bharti Airtel, M&M and Tata Motors, while the major losers were Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and IndusInd Bank.

Shares of oil companies such as ONGC rose 2.13%, GAIL India rose 1.09% and Castrol India rose 0.91% were trading up in later morning hours, keeping the BSE Oil and Gas index in the green zone. On the other hand, shares of BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation) down 0.33% during the time. 

The Indian domestic currency rupee on Friday opened little changed versus the U.S dollar. It rupee was trading at 64.05 per dollar, up 0.02 percent from its last day’s close of 64.06. The Ten-year bond yield was at 7.210 percent, compared to its last close of 7.214%.

The key indices erased their opening gains and were being traded flat due to lack of directions from global markets. The BSE index Sensex was down 1.12 points at 33,776.26 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was up 7.4 points at 10,45.60 in the later morning hours.

Sun Pharma gained 1.76%, L&T up 1.37%, Hero MotoCorp rose 1.32%, Tata Steel up 0.74% and HDFC rose 0.7%, as the top Sensex gainers while M&M, ICICI Bank, HUL, Infosys and IndusInd Bank were the major losers.

Shares of RCom gained 4 percent today after a report said that Reliance Jio Infocomm leads the race to acquire the company’s assets.

BSE realty index rose 3.01%, followed by metal 0.75%, infrastructure 0.69% and capital goods 0.64%, while banking index fell 0.34%, auto 0.3% and PSU 0.18%.

PSU Bank, Auto, Realty and Bank Nifty Index are the top losers on the NSE, while Nifty Media, Pharma and Metal Index were the top gainers.

Among specific stocks, stocks of Varun Beverages Limited rose 7 percent as the company has entered into a binding accord with PepsiCo to acquire franchisee rights.

Shares of Repro India gained in third straight session rising 3 percent after a promoter bought stake in the company.
