Monday high- Sensex jumps 209 pts, Nifty hits 10,700 for first time

Sensex Nifty highKey indices moved on a higher note on Monday with Sensex & Nifty hitting all-new record peaks on the back of Q3 earnings hopes and positive global cues.

The BSE Sensex spiked 238.64 points at 34,831.03 while NSE Nifty added 67.75 at 10,749 in the late morning, for the first time ever. It is hoped all through this week, the stock markets are expected to be guided by the third-quarter earnings of major companies like HDFC Bank, ITC Ltd, Wipro Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharti Airtel and Yes Bank etc.

The stock of ICICI Bank extended the gains rising 3.29% to the day’s high of Rs 328.05 while HDFC shares rose 2% to the day’s high of Rs 1,796.7 after the company approved raising up to Rs 13,000 crore in its banking arm.

Shares of ICICI Bank, HDFC, Power Grid, Wipro, TCS, RIL, and SBI were the major gainers IN Sensex while Bharti Airtel and IndusInd Bank traded a little lower.

Infosys shares rose 1.26 percent to a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1092.05 after the company on Friday reported a rise of 38.22 percent in the net profit to Rs 5129 crore for the Oct –Dec quarter for the current fiscal.

Sensex, Nifty hit lifetime highs on early trade: Infosys down 1.3%

Sensex Nifty high Live Market- Sensex and Nifty started the holiday-shortened week on a positive note in the opening trade, led by gains in shares of TCS and metal and mining companies. BSE Sensex reached its peak high of 34005.37 and Nifty reached at 10,500 l in early trade. However, in the after hours the indices were trading lower.

The broader markets were also supported by positive footing in shares of GAIL India, Vedanta Ltd, ONGC rising up 0.7 to 1.1%.

Shares of Infosys’ down 1.3%, on Nifty50, while shares of Tata Consultancy Service rose 1.5% in early trade after a report said the company will renew large outsourcing contracts.
The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 64.03 per dollar on Tuesday against 64.05 on Friday.

The key benchmark indices continued to trade steadily tracking positive domestic as well global cues on Friday. The BSE Sensex rose 90.60 points to 33,678 and the NSE Nifty50 Index rose 34 points to 10,381 at 11:10 hours today.

Shares of Infosys gained over 1.5% on Friday later hours, while stocks of Reliance Industries, Bajaj Auto and Bharti Airtel were trading up over 0.5 percent each. In the Nifty50 pack, shares of IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra & Aurobindo Pharma gained over 1 percent each, to help the index keep up the opening gains. In the Nifty index, 40 stocks advanced while 10 stocks declined, on the other hand, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Stee and Adani Ports shed nearly 1% each on Sensex.

Shares of Bata India declined 2% to Rs. 730 following Brokerage firm Motilal Oswal has down-graded the company to sell from buy & kept its price target to Rs. 578 per share, down 23 percent from its previous close.

Shares of RBL Bank Ltd rose 3 percent to Rs. 521.15 after huge block deal. About 5.93 mln shares of the bank changed hands in a block deal, as per media report.

On Friday, the Sensex gained for a fifth consecutive day, led by industrial stocks and health care stocks, while traders raised bullish bets in November derivatives series, which started Friday. The rollover rate in the Nifty October futures, was ceased on Thursday, which was 73%, in comparison with 3-month average of 65% on expiry, as per data.

For the coming week, Q2 financial corporate earnings and cues from global front will be closely watched by the market players.
